How it works
Two parts: set up the keypad, then the microphone. Ten minutes, start to finish.
Part 1
Keyboard
Set up the app, program the keys over USB, then go wireless. About ten minutes.
- 1
Plug in over USB
Connect the keypad to your Mac with the included cable. Keys can only be written over USB, never over Bluetooth.
- 2
Install the Vibecoder app
Download it from the Download tab, open the .dmg, and drag Vibecoder into Applications. On a PC, grab the Windows app instead.
- 3
Grant two permissions
Launch the app and click Open. In System Settings → Privacy & Security, enable Vibecoder under Accessibility and under Input Monitoring. Quit and reopen the app so they take effect.
- 4
Program your keys
The keypad has three modes; program Mode P. For each key, either record a key sequence or pick an action from the on-screen keyboard. Set key colors if you like, then save to write everything into the keypad.
- 5
Unplug and switch to Mode P
Disconnect the cable and slide the mode selector on the keypad to P.
- 6
Connect over Bluetooth
Hold the ON/OFF button for one second to power on, then pair “Free-P” in your Mac’s Bluetooth settings and wait for it to show as connected.
- 7
Bind keys in Wispr Flow
Open Wispr Flow’s hands-free settings. Click Change next to a shortcut, press the keypad key you want to use, then click Done.
- 8
Test it
Open any web page and try your keys: start speech input, select all, press Enter. If each key does what you assigned, you’re set.
Good to know
- Keys can’t be held down. Each press fires once.
- The Mac Fn key isn’t supported. Map keys without Fn.
Part 2
Microphone
A wireless mic in three steps.
- 1
Plug in the receiver
Connect the USB-C receiver to your Mac.
- 2
Turn on the mic
Press the button on the microphone. The light comes on when it’s paired with the receiver.
- 3
Select it as your input
Open System Settings → Sound → Input and choose the microphone.
